After working for many years as a system administrator for a renowned IT service provider, Enrico left for India in 2007 where he discovered his passion for photographic storytelling. Since then he photographed assignments, documentaries and personal projects in India, focusing closely on stories of social, environmental and political issues in the region.

Enrico is a regular contributor to The Washington Post and Der Spiegel and his photographic work has been published in online and print issues of major international publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Stern, Die Zeit, GEO and NEON.

Next to his work for newspapers and magazines, Enrico worked on a multitude of photographic documentaries for non-governmental and governmental organizations such as UNICEF, USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, GIZ (German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation) and Welthungerhilfe.

Amongst different accolades by photography competitions and festivals, Enrico was the first recipient of the Chris Hondros Grant, a winner of the FotoWeekDC International Awards Competition in the photojournalism category, a multiple nominee for the UNICEF Photo of the Year award and his work has been exhibited at different photo festivals and galleries worldwide.

Together with his friend and colleague Vikram Singh, an Indian video journalist, Enrico recently started working on short films and video documentaries for Al Jazeera Plus.

While constantly exploring new ways of storytelling and sustainable exchange of ideas, Enrico started the lecture cum education initiative FOCUS LIFE – Education through Photographs, founded the social sports initiative SLACKTIVISM and organized, managed and executed donation campaigns.
